The ECT faculty are excited to invite you to develop and submit your professional portfolio for a prize of up to $1000! We're looking at all portfolios and encourage students with beginning portfolios as well as more developed ones to enter this competition.
There are two categories you can enter:
Most "promising"- (for those just starting out)- this prize is less about quantity than potential (based on judging criteria below)
Most "developed"- (for those who already have a few projects and are further along)- we’ll factor in quantity in addition to the judging criteria below

You may have guessed this but prizes are really just our sneaky way to incentive you to start to develop your professional portfolio now, rather than wait until later! Our hope is that you'll enjoy working on this, and that you'll appreciate the incentive to get started now. And of course, we also hope your portfolio will become an important tool in for your job search and professional online identity.
*Prizes are applied to offset tuition costs.

You must be a current LTXD, G4L or ECT (PhD) student to apply.
Since prize money is applied towards tuition, you need to have at least one semester more to go in your studies.
You are not eligible to get prize money if you're receiving NYU based tuition remission. You are eligivle to submit your portfolio to the competition. All entries will receive valuable formative feedback from judges.

To enter the competition fill out the submisson form by January 19th, 2026 (one entry per student). What you will need:
A link to your portfolio: you may password protect if you don’t want it to be public. Feel free to use any website or portfolio platform you wish.
Answers to questions about sharing and notification preferences
Applicants will be notified of the outcome in late February. All applicants will receive formative feedback on their portfolio submissions.
Two judges will rate portfolios and choose winners using the attached scoring criteria. The winner will be announced in late February through various channels (email, social media, etc.).
